And when I say built into Kontakt, I don't mean the GUI changing and having to be limited like Kontrol is in comparison. Having kontrol built into Kontakt would be good.
Along comes a keyboard with a light system to show you where all your weird drum hits are, playable ranges, key switches, etc and then you realise you have to use Kontrol. I don't think that any piano-style MIDI controller is the ultimate tool for recording each and every one of the countless virtual instruments that exist. You can really get it pretty close to the way you want. If you want to play piano, there are additional adjustments you can make in most piano virtual instruments (Keyscape, KeySuite, ArtVista, etc). If people critique the action, I would ask how much setting up they've done. This is typical for MIDI keyboards-the "feel" is kind of an illusion that can be tricked out with a different velocity setting. When I first played my S88 I was a little disappointed with the way it played, but after I adjusted the velocity within Komplete Kontrol I was fine. For me it was easy, because I had an S49 and loved all the NKS features. However, as you say the Komplete Kontrol does offer a lot of integration and more features as a controller keyboard, i'm just unsure how much I will make use of it as it all has to go through Komplete Kontrol.As you know, of you want an 88 key keyboard with NKS light guides there are only two that are sold: S88 MkI and S88 MkII. The Keybed on the S88 is ok but certainly not as good as the keybed on the SL88, it is a shame the S88 didn't come with the SL88 keybed. Its much better for piano playing than the S88.
As suspected the SL88 key-bed is quite a lot better and reacts very well to the CFX piano. I decided to try out both as I really couldn't make my mind up about this and then return one. I was just suggesting that you would have some features like the pre mapped controls while using the m32. I agree, the integration is certainly much more extensive on the Komplete Kontrol S88 and you certainly don't get the level of experience in regards to its integration on the m32 as you do on the S88.
